Former ADC to President Obasanjo, General Jemitola collapses, dies

Major General Christopher Jemitola, former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, has tragically passed away on Thursday.

The seasoned military officer collapsed at the IBB Golf Course in Abuja, a scene that quickly turned into one of disbelief and heartbreak.

Sources close to the family revealed that Jemitola was rushed to the nearest hospital immediately after the incident, but despite all efforts, he was declared dead upon arrival.

Jemitola, who hails from Ososo in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, had a distinguished military career, marked by several key appointments.

He served as the Corps Commander of the Nigerian Army Signals and Nigeria’s Defence Adviser to Brazil. He also held the pivotal role of Director of Army Public Relations, contributing significantly to the country’s defense and communication strategies.

From 2003 to 2007, he served with President Obasanjo as his trusted ADC, all while serving as a Colonel. His dedication to duty and leadership skills were integral during his tenure, before later advancing to become the Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) in the Nigerian Army.
