Group Wants Gov Eno To Caution SAN Over Plot To Cause Violence In Etim Ekpo LGA

A Group in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has pleaded with the State Governor Pastor Umo Eno, to caution Barrister Emmanuel Enoidem (SAN) over his plot to cause violence in the local government ahead of the 2024 local government elections in the state.
According to a statement by the group, Maintain Peace For Etim Ekpo (MP4EE) signed by Comrade Solomon Udobong, they alleged that Barrister Enoidem who is the political leader of Etim Ekpo Local government Area has vowed to install candidates with bad track records who have been generally rejected by the majority of the people of Etim Ekpo Local government Area as the chairman and councillors in the various wards of the LGA.
According to the Group that Barrister Enoidem has ceeded the zoning meant for Uruk clan to Utu clan which he comes from, with the intention of presenting his stooge , Mr Gideon Uwah from Utu clan.They also averred that the SAN has also through his rubber stamp elders have signed a communiqué to perpetuate his evil plans.
“It should be noted that the said Emmanuel Enoidem manipulated the party processes and governor Udom Emmanuel during the 2022 PDP primaries to produce rejected and non popular aspirants in the various constituencies in Ikot Ekpene senatorial district and the masses who do not have access to the corridor of power to express themselves revolted with their votes at the polls. It took the intervention of God through some neutral persons to deliver the governor and the state House of Assembly members in the senatorial district”.
“The autocratic leader is noted to have been concentrating political empowerment and political appointment on his family and one family of the Uwa’s as follows;
1. Chief (Barr.) Michael lazarus Uwa – House of Rep Member 1992
2. Hon. Kingsley Lazarus Uwa. Councilor Etim Ekpo Ward 3 – 2003 to 2007
3. Hon. Godson lazarus Uwah former Transition Committee Member 2003
4. Hon. Godson Lazarus Uwah – Transition Committee Chairman, Etim Ekpo LGA
5. Arch. John Uwah —–Supervisor 2008- 2010
6. Gideon Uwa… 2024— the political leader insists on imposing this his PA against the wish of the people as a mark of compensation and settlement for having served him for 20 years as an errand boy”.
MP4EE noted in their statement that their people therefore calls on the PDP Akwa Ibom State and the State Governor Pastor Umo Eno to advise Barr Enoidem to refrain from Using the destiny of Etim Ekpo Local government to settle the Uwa’s family on whatever accord or covenant he has with the Uwa’s .
“Meanwhile, the majority of the people of Etim Ekpo Local government Area have also advised the Party and His Excellency the governor who is man of peace and a God fearing man to caution Enoidem to desist from the act that will generate fury from the masses, as that may lead to another protest at the poll in future elections if he is allowed to manipulate the process again and install rejected candidates as Chairmen and councillors in Ikot Ekpene senatorial district during the forthcoming Local government elections since the people can not gain access to the government house or the state party leadership to express their concerns. They further want the Governor and the state PDP to advise Enoidem to allow the natural zoning of the Local government to prevail for peace and equity.
The grouse of the people of Uruk is that the Utu clan which Barrister Enoidem comes from had been in power, and going by the existing zoning structure, it is the turn of Uruk to produce the next Chairman of Etim Ekpo L.G.A. But they alleged that he wants to jettison that zoning structure to install somebody from his area again. Hence their call on the Governor and well meaning people from the area and the PDP to call him to order to avert crisis in the area during the forthcoming election.
