Akwa Ibom State Police Command War on criminals Intensifies With Arrest Of An Ex-convict

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command in its intensified effort to rid the state of criminal elements, has arrested an ex-convict.
According to a release by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Timfon John,
Police operatives of the command on crime prevention patrol on Wednesday June 5, arrested one Eddiong Anthony Matthew ‘M’, a 35-year-old indigene of Ikot Ekong Village in Mkpat Enin LGA in half dress military camouflage.
The PPRO stated that after his arrest, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is an ex-convict who had been perpetrating series of crimes in the state in military uniform with a warrant officer rank. Items on him at the time of arrest included, One walkie-talkie and phones suspected to have been stolen from his victims. Others were, a brown coverall dress and RCC ID Card.
She said, the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
The PPRO therefore re-echoed the Commissioner of Police Waheed Ayilara reaffirmation of the Command’s determination to make the state inhabitable for criminals.
“The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Police Command, CP Waheed Ayilara has reaffirmed the command’s unwavering commitment and dedication to making Akwa Ibom inhabitable for criminals.
“The CP thanked the good people of Akwa Ibom State for their support to the Police,
He urged members of the public to always report any suspicious act or movement to the Police”.
