The Ahmadu Bello Foundation (ABF) is training 50 small and medium scale entrepreneurs in various skills acquisitions in Yobe state.
According to the Foundation, the training was designed to train-the-trainer of 50 participants in 10 small and medium scale business outfits.
Declaring the training workshop, yesterday (Wednesday), in Damaturu, the Acting Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, disclosed: “Today’s event targets to improve the skills of entrepreneurs in creating more jobs opportunities, with increased wealth and income generation.”
The skills acquisitions are in furniture-making, catering, tailoring and fashion designs, auto and electronic repairs, food processing and among other skills to create more jobs among youths.
He noted that the empowerment of youths and women, will continue to be the main objective of the Buni administration.
Besides, Wali added that this informed the State government to create the Ministry of Wealth Creation, Empowerment and Employment Generation (WCEEG).
He said the Buni administration has collaborated with the Federal Government in the implementation of smallholder farmer programme with credit facility to improved agricultural productivity.

Continued, “We’ve provided training and empowerment support to small and medium scale enterprises in each of the senatorial districts.
“Complete GSM handset repair sets and laptops were also distributed including tools for poultry production and milling of rice.”
He noted that the measures have exposed youths and women to gainful employment with various opportunities in the economy
“The participants are expected to increase their productivity for wealth creation in the various sectors of the economy,” he charged.
He, therefore, commended the Foundation for skills acquisition training initiative in developing the defunct Northern Nigeria in accordance to the dreams of late Premier, Ahmadu Bello.
