TROOPS RESCUE TWO HEALTH AID WORKERS IN BORNO

Troops of 21 Armoured Brigade, Bama and Operation Desert Sanity II) have rescued two aid workers of the Family Heath International (FHI360) in the Banki axis of Borno state.

The health workers were abducted by Boko Haram terrorists on  Apirl 26, 2023 in Gambouru, border community with Cameroon.

A counter-insurgency expert, in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, dicloed, yesterday (Thursday), in Maiduguri that the two aid workers were rescued during a gun battle with between the troops of 21 Armoured Brigade and the Boko Haram terrorists in Banki in Bama local council of the state.

On how aid workers were rescued, he said: “The two victims jumped out of one of the vehicle of the terrorists and quickly identified themselves to the troops,” while the other staff ran into the bush amidst heavy shootings.”

He noted the two security guards abducted along with the staff and one other staff who ran into the bush were yet to be found.

FHI 360 is a nonprofit human development organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of people in Northeast region.
