Globally, it is a common knowledge that the birth of a boy Child especially in African context is a celebration because it means a continuation of the family linage, but little attention is given to their upbringing as it is erroneously generally accepted that the wife will ‘cover up’ for them in the future.
In most cases, while growing up, their behavior and mental health are often neglected and that explains why some develop criminal tendencies or easily give in to drug abuse, rape, gender based violence and cultism .

Today, the male students of Global Icon Foundation Schools attended the 2nd Akwa Ibom State Boys Conference organized to mark the International Day Of The Boy Child 2023, This year’s conference is themed Boys And Their Mental Health, The Pathway To Honour.

A book titled “This is my moment” was distributed to all participants while they were refreshed as male advocates discussed the dangers of mental health on the boy child.

The event served as a wake up call to parents and society at large to gear up towards their upbringing.
