Meet Erelu Apesin of Isonyin Land.

My name is Funmilayo Aiyeola, I am Erelu Apesin of Isonyin Ijebu Land, I am a Nigeria born British, grew up in Ibadan, went to Trinity home nursery and primary school oorogun ojo, St Annes school molete Ibadan and University of Bedfordshire UK. My father migrated to UK in the 1950’s and my father got married to my mother in London borough of Haringey in the early 1960..

My father’s father mother was the first Erelu of Isonyin and Ilupa in 1909 till she passed however I am Erelu Apesin of Isonyin Ijebu Land.

My first time of being to Isonyin was 1974 the funeral of my grand dad James Odubanjo Aiyeola and my second time was 2008. In 2012, I stood as Ijebu north east local government chairman under ACN, I lived among them for 2yrs, even though I was not successful as local government chairman, I never stopped involving in the development of my father home town, thank to the late King Omo Ogunkoya whom welcomed and Gbenga Daniel represented by Sina Kawonise who welcomed me and supported me back to my parents community Isonyin.

In 2015 I was fully involved in the burial of late Kabiyesi Funsho Omo Ogunkoya for last respect and to say thank you for father figure. During his life time he offered me Erelu of Isonyin to compensated me for supporting his Kingdom but I was not ready, felt I needed to understood the community people more.

In November, 23rd,  2022, under the Kingdom of Royal Highness Abdulraseed Salami, I got certificate of chiefancy for Erelu Apesin and I accepted it because I am ready, our Royal Highness Abdulraseed Salami is also a father figure to me, I appreciate him and he has passion to develop Isonyin land.

In 2010, I formed girls child under the name of Babatunde Akinola Foundation even though lots of work was carried out, I restricted the awareness, reason best known to me.

My plan for the people of Ijebu north east was to support girls child single parent mother to a successful stage in life.
