The Arab Bank for Economic Development (ABED) in Africa has partnered Borno State to harness capital and human resources for economic growth and development.
The partnership was signed, after Governor Babagana Zulum visited the bank’s headquarters in Sudan for a feasibility study on the harness of resources.
Unveiling the harness of resources in the State, on Friday, in Maiduguri, the Arab Bank’s Managing Director, Dr. Sidi Tah, disclosed: “What prompted this visit to Borno state was our readiness to partner in the harness of resources for economic growth and development.”
Besides, he added that this was a testimony of the State’s commitment for the bank to scale up economic interventions for growth and development.
He said the technical team has already prepared the pilot economic scheme (PES) for the State.
According to him, the Borno state economic project had been approved by the bank for implementation and monitoring.
“Our interventions to harness both capital and human resources, are to address the needs of the people affected in the 13-year Boko Haram insurgency in the state,” he said.
Responding, Governor Zulum assured Dr. Tah of an enabling environment to implement the partnership scheme on “economic growth and development” of the state.
