The Liken of Iwopin, Oba Sunday Agbojo has said that the Wisdom International School of Excellence (WISE) has emerged with the best 10 teachers in Nigeria.
According to the monarch, the award-winning teaching prizes went through a ‘vigorous and transparent’ selections process before emerging the best ones across the country.
Oba Agbojo disclosed this at the weekend, during 6th edition of the Initiative for Education Development (IDEE) teachers’ prize awards at the WISE Iwopin Hall, Ogun Waterside Council in Ogun state.
He noted that despite the challenges; teachers continued to work hard by helping children to grow and learn in shaping to secure their future,
He said that the objectives of IDEETEACHERSPRIZE; was to develop teachers’ building capacities with rewards for their unquantified efforts and sacrifices.
“There was a rigorous selection process in producing the top 10 finalists today,” said the monarch.
Announcing the best teachers, he said that Mr. Dapo Kehinde of the Molusi College Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state, came first.
While Mrs. Akinsulire Adeoola of Omole Grammar School, Lagos emerged second with Mrs. Iseyemi Bisayo of the Akoka Junior Grammar School took the third position of the top three best teachers in Nigeria
Beside the top three award winning teachers, he disclosed that Adekunle Elizabeth and Serah Yusuf emerged from WISE 2 Abuja, while Isaac Oludolapo emerged from WISE 3 Iwopin.
In appreciating all educators and policy makers present at the IDEE teachers prize awards, Oba Agbojo recognize teachers as the pillars of “qualitative and functional education programme.”
He, therefore, called for more teachers, particularly in Iwopin and Ogun Waterside Council in general.
The monarch congratulated winners and educators that participated in the programme and called for more support to quality education to secure children’s future.
IDEE’s Programme Manager, Irene Bankole called for more trainings and welfare support for teachers.
“IDEE is willing to continually partner with schools and other organizations to uplift and develop the capacity building of teachers in the state,” she said.
The State Programme Officer, IDEE, Miss Joy appreciated the 2022 teachers prize committee for a well done job.
“We encourage all parents and students to continue appreciate teachers’ efforts in the education sector.
Highlights of the event comprise capacity development and mentoring of teachers from the BEST teachers in Nigeria.
