The Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Maj-Gen. Abdul Ibrahim has urged troops to scale up battle against terrorists’ camps in the Lake Chad region.
Ibrahim tasked the troops, yesterday (Wednesday), during an operational visit to the Sector 1 of MNJTF at Mora, in Cameroon.
He said that the deployment of the MNJTF Forward Operational Base (FOB) Stabilization Force to the area.
According to him, troops’ of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) has denied Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) the use of the areas as mobility corridors to ferry supplies to terrorists.
Besides tasking the troops, the Commander also pledged to address some of the challenges presented to him to end the over a decade war in the region.
He noted the scaling up of attacks against insurgents could improve the ‘combat efficiency’ of the counter-terrorism joint operations.
He, therefore, urged them to work closely with the ground and aerial troops of OPHK in the Northeast.
The commander also introduced the new Deputy Force Commander, Brig Gen Assoualai Blama to the troops.
