Military Airstrikes Kill Scores Of Boko Haram Terrorists in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Tucano fighter jets with ground troops have killed scores of Boko Haram terrorists in the Darajamal-Mayenti axis of Bama Council in Borno state.

The terrorists were eliminated on Friday, following an intelligence-led aerial and ground coordinated military operations in Sambisa Forest.

Confirming the incident, at the weekend, in Maiduguri, a counter-insurgency expert, in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed: “The terrorists suffered devastating losses, while moving in a convoy of gun trucks and motorcycles in the axis.”

On the insurgents’ hideouts, he said that they were hibernation in the axis of Bula Ngufdoye, Ngori, Kote and the Tangalanga forested area.

According to him, other forested hideouts include Kulo Gomma, Bulamarwaye, Garje, Wuta and the Mordo border community with Cameroon.

“The Tucano fighter jets scored accurate hit bombings on three targets leading to the obliteration scores of the terrorists,” he said, noting that some of their weapons including gun trucks were destroyed.

He said the terrorists, who attempted to flee; were however; mopped up in the military airstrikes.

“The hideouts are used to stage attacks on troops’ positions and the soft targets in the Banki general area,” he said.
