The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Police Command, CP Salami Amidu Bolaji warns the various Political Parties in Ondo State vying for the seat of the Governor of Ondo State to maintain decorum in the affairs of their political campaigns according to electoral dictates and the laws of the land.
CP Bolaji made this call when reports from the various campaign groups and especially the fracas that occurred between two Political Parties in Oba-Akoko with some destructions of property came to his table.
He said it was to avoid this kind of situation that he drew out a timetable for all Political Parties in the State to ensure that no two Political Parties have same day same venue for their campaigns. And wondered why they still cross each other’s part during campaigns.
He said, he will not be the kind of Commissioner of Police to watch people turning campaigns into warfronts and folds his arms. He promises to unleash the arm of the laws on any person or party turning campaigns into war, saying, nobody is above the law of the land.
CP Salami Amidu Bolaji said with his constant deliberations with Political Party leaders in the State to ensure the election comes free, fair and credible, he wonders why they are still allowing their followers to embark on war campaigns and wreaking havoc on innocent citizens.
He further said though the situation in Oba-Akoko is put under control, he warns those with similar views about political campaigns anywhere in the State to have a rethink or risk arrest and possible prosecution.
