Senator Ali Ndume; has said that the military and Civilian JTF; are to
collaborate and synergize with Operation Lafiya Dole components to end
Boko Haram insurgency.
According to him, the synergy among fighting components could finally
defeat Boko Haram terrorists that destroyed many lives and property in
Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.
Ndume, who represents Borno south senatorial district and doubles
Senate Committee Chairman on Army; disclosed this Wednesday at
Government Reservation Area (GRA) residence in Maiduguri.
“I’m calling on people living in Sambisa Forest, Lake Chad Basin and
tops of Mandara Mountains to provide useful information to the
military to end this war,” he said, noting that the local residents
have reliable information on Boko Haram hideouts’ terrains.
“You have to first study the modus operandi of insurgents in three
identified Boko Haram forest, lake and mountains’ enclaves,” he said.
He said that troops of Operation Lafiya Dole can end the Boko Haram
war, as Army has received more armoured tanks, patrol vehicles and
other fighting equipment.
According to him, the Chadian troops along with President Idris Deby
were able to end Lake Chad region Boko Haram fight in eight days.
He said the retrieved cache of arms and ammunition by Chadian
soldiers, were stolen from Nigerian Army formations at Monguno, Bama
and various police stations by Boko Haram.
