Troops of 7 Division, Nigerian Army have neutralised four terrorists, while conducting military clearance operations on Thursday in the Makinta-Meleri-Konduga axis of Borno state. The operation which lasted for over four hours, followed credible information on the hideouts of Boko Haram insurgents in a village. Spokesman of 7 Division, Col. Ado Isa; in a statement released Friday in Maiduguri disclosed that arms and ammunition were also recovered by the troops. “During the operation, the gallant troops neutralised four terrorists and recovered four AK-47 rifles with respective registration numbers of 58012289, 565240898 and 58006027,” he said. According to him, three rifle magazines containing 32 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition and three bicycles were also recovered. While commending the troops, the Acting General Officer Commanding of 7 Division, Nigerian Army and Sector one Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Brig-Gen. Abdulmalik Biu told them Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai is proud of their doggedness and should sustain the offensive until the terrorists are flushed out to ensure security and peace. Biu solicited for more information on suspected Boko Haram hideouts in Sambisa Forests and Lake Chad region.
