NAF allays fears of Maiduguri residents over night flights

The 105 Composite Group of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has allayed fears of Maiduguri residents over aircrafts that fly at nights for training exercise; to secure the “metropolis and environs” from Boko Haram insurgency and terrorism in Borno state. Squadron Leader, R. E Obi-Obasi of the Composite Group; disclosed this on Thursday; in a signed statement issued to journalists in Maiduguri.
He said there is no cause for alarm as flights at night over the metropolis, was a “routine flying training exercise.”
Obi-Obasi in the statement also said: “This night flying exercise over Maiduguri and environs will further help in securing the town.”

The statement reads in part: “It has come to the notice of 105 Composite Group, Nigerian Air Force, Maiduguri that residents of the metropolis are expressing fears over our aircraft that flies at night. “There is no cause for alarm as it is our routine flying training exercise which will further help in securing the town and environs.”

He urged the people not to panic whenever they hear the sound of the aircraft at night.
