Troops of 103 Battalion of Operation Lafiya Dole in the Northeast have
on Saturday; killed three Boko Haram female suicide bombers, while
attempting to infiltrate Kauwuri military post in Konduga council area
of Borno state.
Kauwuri is the entry point to Sambisa Forest, and was attacked four
times, before a military post was established in 2015.
Director Army Public Relations, Brig-Gen. Sani Usman disclosed this on
Sunday in a statement issued to journalists in Maiduguri.
He said the suspected suicide bombers attempted to attack the military
post, but were sighted by a vigilant sentry south of Kauwuri along
Konduga-Bama road.
Usman in the statement said: “The female suicide bombers were on
obvious mission of committing mayhem, but were spotted by a vigilant
sentry; while they were trying to access the military location.
“They were however challenged severally and continued advancing,
declining several warnings to stop. Consequently, the troops
neutralized them instantly. The remains of the suspects have since
been evacuated from the location for deposition.”
He urged members of the general public to continue support troops of
Operation Lafiya Dole by reporting any suspicious movements of persons
to the military and other security agencies.
