National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC is yet to give the outcome of the analysis of the Indian garri that it consficated from some supermarkets in Victoria , Lagos. Some Nigerias are saying the organisation is doing what it was supposed to do before now.
The first thing NAFDAC should have done was to subject the product to analysis before it entered the market. Now they are taking the first step last.
Why does NAFDAC always wait for a tip-off, before the officials do their job? asked Pearle Ekenna a legal practitioner. She said what NAFDAC should do is to monitor products in different supermarkets. They should not wait for farmers association or member of the public to alert them before they do their job.
While Nigerians are waiting for the outcome of the analysis, Scroll Report learnt that the TRS garri has different sizes of 400 gram, 1.5 kilogram and 5 kilogram.
