I’ve Divorced Annie Macaulay
Legendary Musician, Innocent Idibia aka 2Baba has revealed the most unexpected news to fans and colleagues saying that he and his wife, Annie Macaulay are separated and getting divorced.
2Baba made this startling news on his official Instagram handle late Sunday night with over 3000 comments from confused fans in less than 30 minutes.
The confusion comes from Annie’s post early this year showing happy times as they celebrated their “Detty December” with their family and her recent heartbreaking revelation on Netflix reality TV show Young, Famous & African, of miscarrying her twin babies last year.
2Baba’s latest post revealed that all is not well in the Idibia household. He promised to issue an official statement soon to address the questions on peoples mind, adding that the short but lengthy issue was no one’s business but his love for his fans compelled him to want to narrate his side and be judged for either his guilt or his innocence.
Innocent Idibia, disclosed that although the divorce from their thirteen years of marriage was just in the works, they had been separated for a while.
His statement read,
“Hello to my beautiful people of all FEDERATIONS.
Well this thing I have to say is short but also long… I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now and currently filed for divorce… I would grant a press release soon to say my story… not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life; but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed my people. I love you all.”
Less than an hour after his divorce post, another Instagram post surfaced announcing that his account was hacked and efforts were underway to retrieve it.
The post read, “My Instagram account has been hacked, efforts are been carried out to take back control #onelove.”
However, few hours after his last post, the 49-year-old singer made a new post, this time a self video shared on his InstaStory, dressed in black while he sat sipping a bottle of water.
In his usual calm tone, he said: “No body hacked my account, na me talk wetin I won talk” confirming that yes, there is yet another possible divorce in the entertainment industry.
2Baba and Annie have been friends for over two decades and married for thirteen years blessed with two beautiful daughters.
Annie has made no statement yet, concerning her husband’s latest announcement but her Instagram page holds no recent visuals of him, save a January 2023 family picture where he was captured.
