Senator Ekong Sampson Sponsors Training For Journalists In The State

The Senator representing Akwa Ibom South, ( Eket Senatorial District) Dr Ekong Sampson recently sponsored training of Journalists and media practitioners from the Senatorial District to sharpen their skills and upgrade their knowledge to meet up with the 21 century demand.
The event which took place at his Watbridge Hotels and Suites, had famous teachers of communication, including the Dean of Communication Arts, University of Uyo, Prof. Peter Esuh, Dr Udeme Nana, Dr Abasifreke Idiong and Prof Des Wilson. It also had a Senior Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor on Research and Documentations, Dr Essien Ekefre Ndueso as moderator.

The Workshop afforded media professionals to update their skills to meet up with current demands, understand the place of AI and the proper way of utilisation of content creation for media marketing and promotional activities.

This is one of the several human capacity development embarked on by the distinguished senator aimed at training and equipping about 1000 people in Mining, tailoring, confectionery, ICT and other areas of endeavours.
Like his counterpart in Eket Federal Constituency, Honourable Etteh, Senator Sampson has impacted positively on the people of the whole senatorial district through many empowerment programmes and initiatives.
As one who had served two terms in the State House of Assembly, the Mkpat Enin born senator has been vocal in the upper chambers, sponsoring some bills like the Bill for the Establishment of a Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi which has scaled through second reading, and the school is set to take off, a Bill for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Akwa Ibom South, and a Bill for the establishment of a Federal University of Medical Sciences in Eket.
The senator is also said to be working for the take-off of the University of Maritime Studies, Oron.
