US-Based Group To Partner Akwa Ibom Health Sector Development

As means of contributing to the repositioning and upgrade of Akwa Ibom state health sector, US- based health professional Dr. Marshall Umoren, has expressed a readiness of his group holdings, The HighTower Holdings LLC, to partner the government and assist her achieve its policy goals in the sector. A statement issued in Uyo by his media officer Mr. Emmanuel Ufott, has indicated.

It would be recalled that Governor Umo Eno, playing guest to Akwa Ibom community in Nashville, Tennessee, had recently called on diaspora based Akwa Ibom citizens to consider the deployment of their oversea assets and resources, and so contribute to growing the home economy.
According to the statement, Dr. Umoren has pledged to collaborate with the Akwa Ibom government to float a centre for heart health treatment and emergency in the state capital.
“We can assist upgrade and fix the sector, especially in the area of cardiovascular health”, Umoren is quoted in the statement.
He said the concern of The HighTower Holdings LLC, is based on its recent assessment of the Akwa Ibom state health sector and her growing medical industry. The statement said the assessment, had identified the noticable absence of a requisite heart health service giving institution in the state. Umoren has assured of his organization’s readiness to facilitate the establishment of such a centre with a strong collaboration expected from the Akwa Ibom government.
“The comprehensive heart centre will impact positively on doctors, nurses, paramedics and would-be patients and victims of heart related ailments”.,the statement explained.
Stressing the pilot project to be the first ever in the state, Umoren in the statement declared: ” the project potential would yield long- term social and Do benefits to the society; as well as provide access to technology- driven medicare for the people.”
Aside catering for people in the state, the centre, the statement said , “would curb medical tourism abroad , boost intensive heart health medical delivery through training added to the support it would attract from a highly trained personnel designed to be drawn from reputable global institutions.”
Umoren, in the statement has enumerated other benefits of the project to include inclusive professional growth, competency, job empowerment for practitioners, and the enhancement of quality of practice and delivery within the state public health sector.
Given the increased risk of heart disease which has led to high prevalence of sudden death rates among the populace, Umoren has expressed that it is his assured desire that the Akwa Ibom state Government would key into a considered collaboration with his organization, and so approve the siting of the heart centre in the state.
He reiterated “its significant establishment, will in the strength, train and also certify the proficiency of specialized health practitioners in attending to heart health emergencies across the state medical institutions.
Dr. Umoren, in the statement, has appraised his envisaged partnership as aligning much with Governor Umo Eno’s top policy of prioritizing the holistic provision and key delivery of essential and services inclusive to well and better equipped medical facilities, designed to meet the good health and wellness of the state populace.
