House Of Reps Member Etteh Commisserates With Political Leader Of Eket Over Demise Of Wife
…Says she was a peacemaker

The Deputy chairman, House committee on University Education, Hon. Okpolupm Etteh has joined Nigerians from all works of life to Commisserates with the political leader of Eket Chief Nduese Essien over the death of his wife Obongawan Ekaete Nduese Essien.
The lawmaker has described the exit of Obonganwan Ekaette Nduese Essien as tragic, adding that it is painful to lose a loved one, no matter the age.
Etteh, stated this while on a condolence visit to the husband of the deceased and the political leader of Akwa Ibom South, Chief Nduese Essien at his Ntaisip country home on August 21.

He noted that the deceased was a peacemaker and God fearing Christian, who avoided trouble at all cost while uniting all around her.
” I have known her since 1999, and for that period of time, she has always exhibited love, compassion and care, above all, she was a peace maker who constantly brought all around her together”.
He therefore urged the elderstateman, Chief Essien, the entire family and community to be consoled by the legacies she left behind.
Responding, the political leader of Akwa Ibom South, himself a former member of House of Representatives and former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Chief Nduese Essien, said that the late wife was more than a companion to him and the family having lived together for 57 years.
“The trauma I went through in the first week was terrible. I have tried to be stronger because of the encouragement by people and i appreciate you for coming. We need to work together,” Chief Essien stated.
The late Obonganwan Ekaette Nduese Essien who was born on November 4, 1945 was a Deaconess of the Qua Iboe Church.
According to a release by the family, the septuagenarian who died at the age of 79 leaving behind her husband, children and many relations will be buried on Friday August 30, 2024 at Ntaisip, Eket in Akwa Ibom State.
Honourable Etteh who Represents Eket/ Esit Eket/ Ibeno/ Onna Federal Constituency, is a one time member of State House of Assembly and State Commissioner.
He is from Ibeno Local Government Area.
