The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and the House of Representatives Committee on National Population recently held a retreat with the theme “Identity Management and Legislative Oversight.”
The retreat aimed to foster collaboration and build a harmonious working relationship between the two entities.
Speaking at the event, NIMC Director General, Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, highlighted that the retreat aimed to re-acquaint committee members with the Commission’s activities, mandate, and mission.
She emphasized that the retreat would provide a conducive environment for lawmakers and NIMC management to identify areas of collaboration and build a harmonious working relationship to ensure the success of digital identity in Nigeria.
Honourable Okunjimi Odimayo, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Population, commended NIMC for its efforts in raising the Commission’s profile and pledged the Committee’s full support to ensure NIMC achieves its mandate.
The retreat was attended by members of the House of Representatives Committee on Population and management staff of the National Identity Management Commission.
