Wife of CP Akwa Ibom State Empowers Police Officers Wives and Others On 2024 International Women’s Day

In commemoration of this year’s International Women’s Day celebration, and in compliance with the directive of the President of Police Officers Wives’ Association (POWA), Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun, the Wife of the Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State, Mrs Ronke Ayilara empowered over one hundred deceased Police Officers Wives and wives of some serving junior Police Officers with food items and cash.
At the occasion, the Wife of the CP who was grateful to the POWA President, urged the Women to invest in themselves by acquiring skills that will help them navigate the hard times. She assured them of equipping the skills acquisition centre with the help of the CP for their benefits.
The elated beneficiaries lauded the CP and his wife for the kind gesture, and promise to heed the advice of investing in entrepreneurial skills for their benefit.
The occasion was graced by CP Waheed Ayilara and other Senior Officers of the Command.
The CP also made cash donations to the late Police Officers Wives (LAPOWA and PIWA)
The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day which is ” Invest in women: Accelerate Progress,” highlighted the importance of gender equality, women’s and girls’ empowerment, and their rights to healthier lives.
The lead Speaker at the occasion was Barr Mrs Enobong Akpan.
