Y6ruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to authorize the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Igboho has also called on the Tinubu-led Federal Government to dismiss the treasonable charges leveled against Kanu.
In a video posted on Monday, Igboho emphasized that releasing Kanu would enable him to address his deteriorating health condition.
The activist highlighted that Kanu, like himself, is a proponent advocating for the interests of his region, with Kanu championing the cause of the Southeast while Igboho fights for the Southwest.
Igboho stated: “I implore you to release Nnamdi Kanu, let’s not politicize this issue. He hasn’t committed any crime. Today is February 26, 2024.
“Grant him freedom so he can reunite with his family. Kanu is merely advocating for his people in the South East, much like I am advocating for the Yoruba people. Let him go, release him. Please, release Kanu.”
