Inside Details of How Access Holdings CEO, Wigwe’s Aide, Faleye Olushola Cheated Death In Helicopter Crash

Date:

In the wake of the tragic passing of Herbert Wigwe, the CEO of Access Holdings, along with his wife, Chizoba Wigwe, and son in a helicopter crash in the United States on Friday, reports suggest that Mr. Faleye Olushola, the Special Assistant to the bank’s chief, may have been linked to the accident.

THISDAY reported that Mr. Olushola, whose name was reportedly on the flight manifest, narrowly escaped the tragedy by opting not to board the doomed flight to Boulder City. Instead, he chose to travel by road.

Before the tragic event, Mr. Olushola had traveled with Wigwe, his family, and Abimbola Ogunbanjo, former Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group), from London, United Kingdom (UK) to Palm Springs, a city in California, US.

Previously, Access Bank Plc, in its response to the incident, stated that it was unable to authenticate the CEO’s death due to the limited information available.

However, in a statement released on X on Sunday, the bank reassured that it was actively communicating with US authorities to obtain further details regarding the situation.

“We have received numerous inquiries concerning an airplane crash in the USA.
