One of the rescued Chibok girls, Mary Nkeki who’s now 27 years old, have reportedly been begging to be reunited with her Boko Haram captor, and husband.
According to a source, Mary has refused to be placated to put her life in captivity behind her and enjoy her freedom.
“I am already in love with him. I don’t want to be rescued from. Please let me go back to him,” she was quoted as pleading.
She was said to have been going to the Nigerian Army unit that rescued her, and begging the authorities to take her back to be reunited with her Boko Haram captor.
It will be recalled that in April 2014, 276 school girls from Chibok in Borno were adopted from their school by the Boko haram insurgents, a development that made global headlines and sparked the #BringBackOurGirls movement and protests, which attracted public support from celebrities and public figures including Malala Yousafzai, Hillary Clinton, and then First Lady Michelle Obama.
