The Yobe State Emergency Medical Ambulance Service Agency (YEMASA) is to partner the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on health emergency rescue activities.
According to the Agency, the health emergencies rescue are conducted on roads and during fire and flood disasters in communities.
Unveiling the partnership, yesterday (Wednesday), in Damaturu, the Corps’ State Commandant, DD Dantoro, said that FRSC will partner with the new Agency in the health emergency rescue mission.
He said the Corps’ visit to YEMASA, was to get familiar with other sister rescue agencies to reduce the loss of lives and property on roads and in communities.
“The partnership will complement the ongoing efforts of the road safety corps’ rescue emergencies,” he said, stating that the rescue are on a weekly road traffic accidents in the state.
The Commandant, lauded Governor Mai Mala Buni for establishing the Ambulance service agency to protect people’s lives and property on roads and in communities.
While reviewing activities of the Agency, the Executive Secretary, Abdullahi Ali Danchuwa, disclosed: “The FRSC has signed and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with us to use its ambulance facility for any rescue service in the state.
“We’re in the State office of the Corps to inform it that that the Agency operates 24/7 in the state,” he said.
He, therefore, urged the FRSC to share their active Toll Line number: 097000731 that could be reached at any time of the day for rescue.
Meanwhile, he said that YEMASA is working closely with the Nigeria Communication Commission (NBC) to get its 122 toll free line active.
He, therefore, requested for a designated Emergency Focal Person from the Corps, disclosing that; “The Agency will allocate a Closed User Group (CUG) line that will link to Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN) for emergency swift response.
He said the Agency is willing to support the FRSC in identifying persons for training on Health Emergency Rescue Mission (HERM).
He made pragmatic presentation of the Agency’s mission and vision, as well as its mode of operations in communities.
