Yobe state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has shared N32.7 million to 1, 634 ward executives in the North senatorial district.
The senatorial district comprises Bade, Karasuwa, Nguru, Yusufari, Jakusko and Machina Councils, a border community with Niger.
Presenting the cheques to the party executives, over the weekend (Sunday), in Jakusko, the APC State Chairman, Mohammed Gadaka disclosed that each of the ward executives is to get N20, 000.
According to him, the disbursement of money was to enhance and empower the ward executives during the electioneering campaigns in the six Councils in the state.
“This is our own way of empowering and assisting wards executive who had contributed immensely in previous elections to the party’s victory at the 2019 polls,” he said.
He, therefore, charged the ward executives and other party supporters to work for this year’s second term of Governor Mai Mala Buni.
He said that this will enable the Governor, if elected, to complete all ongoing capital projects across the state.
Gadaka listed the projects to be completed in 2023 to include the International Cargo Airport, Damaturu, the modern markets at Potiskum, Nguru, Geidam and Damaturu, and the Potiskum Trailer Park awarded at the cost of N2.8 billion.
Besides, he added that 138 Primary Healthcare Centres have been upgraded for the delivery of healthcare services to the people.
He assured that the remaining 40 health centres in other wards will be completed in 2023, if the Governor is elected for the second term.
The Chairman, therefore, charged the part officials to ensure that the APC presidential candidate, Ahmed Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, including other candidates of the party are elected in the forthcoming election
The Jakusko party chairman, Adamu Lamido thanked the party for the empowerment at the wards level.
“This will ginger us to contribute to the success of the party in each of the 178 wards for votes for the party at the 2023 polls in the state,” he said.
He further disclosed: “The 4, 134 ward executives in the state will work for the victory of Buni, Tinubu and other APC candidates from top to bottom.”
