- For many widows and indigent people that were lamenting how they would enjoy Christmas given the astronomical high cost of food stuff, God answered their prayers through Stella Imoh, founder of National Value Intact/ Dynamic Mothers Initiative as she donated wide range of food stuffs, meat, wrappers and cash to them to celebrate Christmas and New Year.
The food stuff given to a sizable number of these category of beneficiaries included rice, beans, yam, goat meat and ingredients like Groundnut oil, tomatoes, peppers and spices.
She said the gesture was not the first time or a one -off thing as she has been doing that over the years during Christmas and Easter sharing things to the less privileged.
Stella noted that beyond this, she has a lot of people she takes care of specifically widows, school drop outs and young ladies that have neither shelter nor someone taking care of them. According to her, she takes care of them monthly through stipends, supply of foodstuff as well as paying of rent for the Indigent and widows among others.
” It is something I have been doing for many years sharing food items like rice, beans, yams and other condiments to the less privileged during the festive season. I have a lot of people that are depending on me. Widows, school drop outs and young ladies that do not have shelter or people taking care of them. I take care of them monthly. Christmas like this, I make them feel happy by sharing these things to them. I used to buy chickens and share to them but this year because of high cost I had to go for some goats that were slaughtered shared to them “.
Apart from the food items, Stella said she shared over 300 wrappers to people both male and female around her apart from the indigent.
On how she identified these people to empower, she said many of them are in her list, those she takes care of are first in line, then those people introduced to her and others she comes across which she knows need help.
The founder of the women empowerment and Pastor Umo Eno Support Group who said she is also building a market and installing borehole in her village as a pilot project for many projects she has pencilled down in the next three months, says her philanthropic gestures are just a way of giving back to the society in appreciation of God’s faithfulness to her over the years having come from a poor and humble background to become one that can pay house rent for people, give people seed money to start business, pay school fees and buy JAMB forms for students.
The Eket based philanthropist, counsellor, clergy, politician and women empowerment advocate says she is always praying asking God for Grace to always be able to put smiles on the face of people.
The Physics Graduate from the University of Uyo is a woman of many parts.
As a clergy, she is Pastor of a parish of a popular new generation Church in Eket. As a philanthropist, she has empowered so many people cutting across widows, the elderly, market women, the young unemployed boys and girls and students. And as a politician, she is an avowed supporter of Pastor Umo Eno, the governorship candidate of PDP in Akwa Ibom State.
Her support for Pastor Eno has known no boundary as she is known to have committed her resources in the past months even before kick off of party campaigns to champion the candidacy of the PDP gubernatorial flagbearer selling him to market women, widows and young girls of voting age in the village. She said ” The chunk of voters are in the villages so that is where my concentration is”.
For instance during the last voters registration exercise, Stella is said have on her own accord embarked on sensitisation of market women to go and register so that they will be able vote during the election, and didn’t not fail to mention the need for them to vote the PDP candidate.
Also note worthy and as a manifestation of her unalloyed support for the candidacy of Pastor Umo Eno, she has been in the campaign train of Umo Eno to all the local government areas he has carried his campaign to 13 as at now including the state and Senatorial DIstricts Flag off last year. For him, there will be no dull moment as long as her body can carry her as she and her group National Value Intact/ Dynamic Mothers Initiative intends to be present in all the 31 local government areas earmarked for campaign tour.
Her group we gathered, has coordinators in all the local government areas populated by men, women, young ladies and youths.
What is the current personal agenda of the group now apart from going on the PDP campaign tour across local government areas, Stella ” Our current agenda is going on sensitisation of people in the rural areas on how to vote so that their votes will not be voided”.
