The massive turnouts of residents during President Muhammadu Buhari two-day working visit has excited Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state.
According to Buni, the people have supported and cooperated with the State government for a successful and hitch-free Presidential visit in inaugurating several completed capital projects in Damaturu, the state capital.
The commissioned projects included the International Cargo Airport named after him (Buhari), Maternal and Child Healthcare complex, a mega school, Damaturu Modern Market (DMM) and 2, 600 housing units across the state.
Other projects inaugurated by the President comprise a Police Administrative office, a school and hospital along Gashua road.
The Spokesman to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed, disclosed, yesterday (Thursday), in Damaturu that; “Buni extended his warm appreciation to the traditional rulers, opinion leaders, stakeholders, illustrious sons and daughters,” stating that they made the two-day working visit of Buhari very successful without any hitch.
Besides, he added that the support, cooperation and orderly behaviour of the people was a reflection of the culture and cordial receptions of visitors, including the President and the six Service Chiefs to the State.
Buni, therefore, thanked God for the hitch-free presidential visit and the orderly behaviours of the people in the state.
“They all trooped out to welcome the President, his entourage, and other guests,” he said.
Continued; “We are proud of hosting the President who spent the night with us in Damaturu,” noting that this is a confirmation of the return of peace in the state.
He, therefore, applauded the President, police, security agencies and vigilantes for their collective fight against insecurity to people’s lives and property.
The Governor also charged the people to remain focused and determined towards sustaining the restored peace in the state.
