The Yobe State government has clinched the State Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability (SFTAS) award of the World Bank.
The bank rated the Yobe as one of the best-performing states for fiscal transparency and accountability to the people.
Director General, press and media affairs, Mamman Mohammed, stated yesterday (Wednesday), in Damaturu that the State government adhered to due processes in the awards of contracts and supplies through the Bureau for Public Procurement.
“Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) had been reducing wastes and inefficiency to get value for money,” he said, adding that the state government’s transparency and accountability were sustained in conducting financial transactions.
He said that the presentation of the award was made by the Association of Public Procurement Practitioners of Nigeria (APPPN).
