Badagry (or Badagri), is a coastal town and Local Government Area (LGA), close to the city of Lagos and it is located on the north bank of Porto Novo Creek, an inland waterway that connects Lagos to Benin Republic. During the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, the town was a connector between European traders on the coast and traders from the hinterland.
Badagry is one of the best places to travel with your family during this period when the children are on vacation. It is also a great tourist destination because it is known for its historical background which includes the Badagry Slave Museum, Black History Museum, Gberefu Island also known as Point of No Return, Badagry Building which is the first story building in Nigeria, Agia Tree Monument where Christmas was first celebrated in Nigeria, and The Royal Palace of Mobee.
