The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) has killed over two dozen Boko Haram terrorists in the Chillaria axis of Sambisa Forest in Borno state.
The insurgents were eliminated on November 21, 2022, in a sustained inter-rivalry clash in the Chillaria forest hideouts.
A counter-insurgency expert, in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, yesterday (Wednesday), in Maiduguri, disclosed: “ISWAP terrorists ambushed a moving convoy of the Boko Haram fighters,” stating that this led to the 40-minitue fierce gun battle at 4:30pm.
According to him, ISWAP had taken strategic positions to rout Boko Haram fighters, killing an unspecified number of them.
The military source in Maiduguri, also further disclosed that a Hilux truck, motorcycles and other weapons were seized from Boko Haram.
Makama had also predicted that the worsening inter-rivalry clashes, between the jihadist groups may lead to irreversible self-destruction.
“The revolting ISWAP had vowed to battle more with members of its former main body than troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK),” he noted.
