Information reaching us is that the Oyomesi are set to begin the screening of prospective princes whose desires are to occupy the most prestigious traditional stool in Yorubaland, the ancient throne of the Alaafin of Oyo.
There are 119 applicants who have submitted their applications and work is taking off. 
The Oyomesi is led by the Basorun of Oyo, High Chief Yusuf Akinade Olayinka I and the Oyomesi are all six in number as at the filing of this report namely, Agbaakin, Samu, Laguna, Alapinni and Akiniku.
