Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have killed 10 Boko Haram terrorists in Rann, the Council headquarters of Kala/Balge in Borno. The terrorists were neutralized Friday, while attempting to infiltrate the main entrance of the border town with Cameroon in gun trucks. Spokesman of Army, Brig-Gen. Mohammed Yerima in a statement Sunday in Maiduguri, disclosed: “Barely hours into the tenure of the Chief of Army Staff Maj-Gen. Farouk Yahaya, Boko Haram insurgents attempted an audacious attack on troops. “The highly spirited troops were right on hand to counter the move and inflicted humiliating defeat on the terrorists” He said the terrorists abandoned their evil mission and took to their heels towards the border areas with Cameroon. According to him, the troops chased the retreating terrorists and ensured there was no further threat to Rann and residents. He said they also destroyed a gun truck and recovered various weapons, including an anti-aircraft gun, two machine guns and eight AK-47 rifles.
