The Borno State Police command has reduced curfew by an hour for the ongoing Ramadan fast in Maiduguri metropolis. While announcing the curfew hours in Maiduguri, Spokesman of Command, Edet Okon in a statement in Maiduguri, disclosed: “The police command wishes to inform the general public of the adjustment in the starting time of curfew from 10-11pm.” He said for clarity and emphasis; henceforth and until further notice curfew commences from 11pm to 6am daily. The Commissioner of Police, Bello Makwash urges the Muslim community to reciprocate the goodwill of Ramadan provided by the state government. “Residents should strictly and continue to observe the seven-hour curfew daily,” he said. He noted that the people are also to cooperate with the police and other security agencies. “We’re ensuring a peaceful and crime-free society during the Ramadan fast and beyond.
