Lagos State Public Procurement Agency (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and Unlawful Societies and Cultism (Prohibition) Bill, 2020 scaled through the first reading at the Plenary on Monday.
The Bill was raised as the Business of the Day by the Majority Leader, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade.
In another development, the House received a correspondence from the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo titled, “Proposal for a law to amend the Lagos State Administration of Criminal Justice, Repeal and Re-enactment Law, 2011”.
The correspondence stated that according to the Lagos State Executive Council meeting on 29th June, 2020 considered the proposal for a Law to amend the Lagos State Administration of Criminal Justice, Repeal and Re-enactment Law, 2011.
The Bill sought to seek, amongst others provision for changes to some of the procedures in the administration of criminal justice in Lagos State in order to promote an orderly society and foster collective obligations and duties towards the reservation and protection of lives and properties, including public properties.
The Bill was therefore forwarded to the House for further legislative process.
