Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has warned the intending Pilgrims from the state to refrain from indulging in criminal activities, prior, during and after the 2019 hajj exercise.
Ganduje urged the pilgrims to conduct themselves in compliance with the laws of Saudi Arabia kingdom, through out the observance of their religious obligations, in the Holy Land.
The Governor represented by his deputy, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna during a Pilgrims Hajj practical demonstration sessions organised for the intending Pilgrims, held at Kano Hajj Camp appealed to the pilgrims to act as good ambassadors of the state.
He cautioned that pilgrims who are caught to have infringe the laws through their shameful act would succeed in tarnishing the good image of the State.
In his words“ Pilgrims from Kano are always known for their good conduct right before their departure to Saudi Arabia, when they are in Saudi Arabia and up to the time they return back to Nigeria. this is why in the year 2019, Kano State got an award from the Saudi Government through the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria(NAHCON) for being the best in Hajj performance.
“the Chairman National Hajj Commission of Nigeria Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar was in Kano on official visit where he publicly justified how the present administration excelled in according the needed attention to the welfare of its Pilgrims .
“ we have dispatched more professional personnel on health, information and security, who have been provided to be part of the Staff who will follow our pilgrims and be assisting them while in Saudi Arabia.”
He disclosed that the state has engaged the services of renown Ulamas to guide and enlighten the Pilgrims.
