The Coalition of Borno Youths (BOYC) has endorsed Senator Ali Ndume to re-contest the South Borno Senatorial election in 2019. The coalition of youth is drawn from the 27 Local Government Areas of Borno state, with three Senatorial Districts from south, central and north parts of the state. Announcing the endorsement on Saturday at a news conference in Maiduguri, Coordinator of Gwoza Youths Coalition, Umar Izge said to allow a humbled and focused aspirant to remain unappreciated to re-contest senatorial election, could result into monumental losses to the electorates. He said that Senator Ndume had embarked on “youth employment and development” with the sponsor of several bills at the National Assembly in the last 11 years. According to him, the senatorial aspirant has also facilitated the restoration of peace in Borno state in collaboration with Federal Government and military. His words: “We do hereby affirm and endorse the continuity of Mohammed Ali Ndume, as Senator representing South Borno at the National Assembly, until the expiration of his senatorial position in line with the 1999 constitution.”
