Abuja, Nigeria, 13 June 2018: The former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has expressed his condolences to a close political associate and friend, Hon. Saleh Shehu on the demise of his dear father, Alhaji Shehu Usman who passed on Monday in Hadejia, Jigawa State.
Saleh Shehu served as Minister of State for Works in the President Olusegun Obasanjo’s second tenure in 2003, while Atiku Abubakar was Vice President.
In a condolence message to the bereaved family made available to the media on Wednesday, the Waziri Adamawa extolled the virtues for his meritorious service to his community.
“Your father did well as a traditional title holder and community leader, even in his retirement he did not fail to avail his immense experiences to the service of his people and community”, Atiku said.
Atiku prayed Allah to forgive the deceased his sins and grant him Al Jannah Firdaus.
He urged the Shehu family to take heart in the fact that the deceased passed on in the month of Ramadan and that he lived long serving humanity in all of his active life.
