Jose Mourinho is determined to make sure his Manchester United side get all three points when they face Chelsea this weekend, and it is of course far more than just a game.
So, of course that means that both Mourinho and Conte will want the win – and according to the Mirror, the Manchester United boss knows just how to get it.
He plans on behaving perfectly, something he’s spoken about on many occasions this season, even claiming he should win the award for ‘Best Behaved Manager’, and wants to rise above the pettiness when United face Chelsea – and will even shake Conte’s hand in the pre-match ritual – and again at the end of the game.
He thinks all this will show his United players they need to focus on the game and the win rather than the mind games surrounding the fixture, and wants to simply get back to winning ways.
The race for the top four is more vital than ever, and it seems that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have both picked up the pace in order to secure their places in the Champions League spots, and while United are still sitting in second place, the gap they once had to separate them from the chasing pack is certainly being closed with each passing weekend – and that’s not something Mourinho is happy with.
Despite signing Alexis Sanchez, United have laboured going forward since the turn of the year, and the United manager’s reported issues with Paul Pogba have also marred things, with reports the pair are not seeing eye to eye, the form of the Frenchman nosediving, and even rumours Mino Raiola is trying to sound out other clubs in Europe about a potential summer move doing the rounds.
