Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole have on Monday rescued 46 women and
children from the Boko Haram hideouts of Sabi Huda in Sambisa Forest
of Borno state.
The soldiers, who targeted terrorists’ highly; fortified hideouts,
also destroyed eight gun trucks and several makeshifts shelters and
tents.
Deputy Director Public Relations of Theatre Command, Col. Onyema
Nwachukwu disclosed this Tuesday in a statement issued to journalists
in Maiduguri.
He said that the 46 rescued women and children were held captives at
the highly “fortified hideouts” of S-Shaped part of Sambisa Forest.
According to him, the location of Sabil Huda was also believed to be
one of terrorists’ prized hideouts in the forest.
“During the fierce offensive which was supported by Nigerian Air
Force; against the terrorists on Monday 12, 2018, the resilient troops
neutralized quite a number of Boko Haram insurgents,” said Nwachukwu.
He said major armaments, including two units of Spartan Armoured
Personnel Carrier (APC), a Canter truck, laptop computer belonging to
terrorists were also recovered.
