he Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC  today,  November 14, 2017 extended its  hands of collaboration to the  National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons ( NAPTIP), in fighting corruption, economic and financial crimes in Nigeria.
The  EFCC Zonal Head, Benin , Mailafia Yakubu called on the two agencies to close ranks in the overall interest of the country, while receiving a delegation from NAPTIP in his office in Benin, Edo State.
He added that corruption had eaten deep into the fabric of the nation and requires the collective input of all to tackle.
Yakubu further said  money laundering has  undermined the growth of the economy and brought intense hardship on the people of Nigeria.
He therfore called on NAPTIP to alert the EFCC on any suspected case of money laundering by human traffickers to enable the Commission bring the culprits to justice.
The Commander NAPTIP, Benin Zone, Nduka Nwanwenne who lead the delegation had earlier informed the EFCC that they were in its office to seek collaboration and  synergy between the EFCC and NAPTIP.
Nwanwenne  informed that the Agency has the core mandate to curb human trafficking in Nigeria, adding that where human  trafficking is involved,  the transfer of  money is usually  done hence their reason for visiting the EFCC to help tackle this illicit financial flow.
