The Troops of 233 Battalion, 27 Task Force Brigade of Operation Lafiya
Dole; in collaboration with vigilantes in the North-East; have
arrested four fleeing Boko Haram terrorists, while patrolling the
outskirts of Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.
The arrests, according to military authorities in Damaturu, were made
in two village outskirts of Kurnari and Nayinawa.
Director Army Public Relations, Brig-Gen. Sani Usman disclose this on
Tuesday in a statement issued to journalists in Damaturu.
The statement reads: “The confirmed escaping Boko Haram terrorists,
Bukar Waziri, aged 25 years and Mammade Lawan, aged 20, were from Buk,
while father and son, Muhammadu Damina, aged 40 years and Isah
Muhammadu aged 15 years were from Talala village.”
“During preliminary investigation, they claimed that they were fleeing
from the terrorists’ hideout at Talala and Buk in Damboa Local
Government Area of Borno state; because of the unbearable military’s
onslaughts and bombardments on their various locations.”
In a related development, troops of 33 Brigade Nigerian Army, on
Operation FOREST KUNAMA II, on Sunday, July 23, 2017, following a tip
off, before arresting Salisu Ibrahim, an armed robbery suspect along
Bauchi-Gombe road.
Usman said that the arrested terrorists and armed robbers are being
further investigated by the military.
