The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi (III) has commended Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State for his numerous performances in the last six years, saying that the people of Oyo Town still hold tight to their covenant with the Governor.
Oba Adeyemi, in an advertorial titled: Ajimobi’s Scorecard in some national newspapers published on Monday, June 5, said Governor Ajimobi has performed excellently in the areas of Road, Agriculture, Healthcare Service, Youth Employment, Peace, Security, Education among others.
The Traditional ruler, who in the advert likened the governor to a student, explained that a good student never aspires to score 100% in any exam while a genius does not target perfection but excellence, noting “this is the summary of Abiola Ajimobi’s account of stewardship as Governor of Oyo State in the last six years.”
The high revered Oba Adeyemi said, “like conventional WAEC, where Mathematics and English Language are a MUST for students, ROAD and SECURITY are the MUST in the current situation in Oyo state. Fortunately, Governor Ajimobi scores excellent in the two subjects.
“But if in spite of his brilliant performance in the area of road construction, he could not score Distinction, which he really deserves, it can only be because of the slow pace of the Oyo town roads. As evidence of the Governor’s ingenuity, it is instructive that he did not fail in any of his subjects under reference as he did not score below credit in any of them. That is in one or two subjects. Outside that, he revolves between Distinction and Excellence in all others,” the Imperial Majesty explained.
He added, “But even here, the fault does not lie with the student but with the external examiner i.e. the contractors handling the roads; because the student in question has done all that is required to pass the exams. That is why in spite of the less than excellent performance on Oyo town roads, the people of the city still hold tight to their covenant with the Governor.”
Oba Adeyemi submitted that his overall summary of the story of Oyo State in the last six years of Abiola Ajimobi administration had been a SUCCESS STORY.
