Countdown To Akeredolu’s Inauguration:
•10 days to go
•Presidency, 30 govs, 50 senators, 10 ministers coming – Olowolabi
Barely 10 days to the inauguration ceremony of Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, as the new Governor of Ondo State, no fewer than 30 State Governors, 50 senators and 10 ministers will be among the dignitaries expected to grace the inauguration ceremony.
The Media Adviser to the governor-elect and Chairman, Media and Publicity Committee of Inauguration Committee of the incoming administration, Yemi Olowolabi who disclosed this in an exclusive interview with The Hope also explained that officials from the Presidency including Ministers and Senators among several eminent personalities will also witness “what he called a world class inauguration ceremony”.
Activities marking the inauguration ceremony will kick off on Thursday February 23 with the official presentation of the instrument of office to the incoming governor by Governor Olusegun Mimiko.
Inauguration proper will come up on Friday 24 at the Sports Complex by 10:00am while a special thanksgiving ceremony will be held at the Central
Mosque, Akure on Saturday.
The ceremonies will be rounded off on Sunday with a Special Thanksgiving Service at St. Andrews Cathedral Church, Owo.
Olowolabi said: “the list of eminent Nigerians that will grace the occasion is endless. If we start talking about it, we will be here till tomorrow but I can assure you that we are expecting virtually all the Governors.
“There are 23 APC Governors and
Akeredolu will make it 24. So, we are expecting about 30 Governors, Ministers, Senators and people from the Presidency
to grace the inauguration. People outside Nigeria are also coming to witness the ceremony”.
The Media Publicity Chairman further assured the people of the state of a better state under the incoming government.
According to him, the incoming
administration will do things in a new way for better service delivery.
He said the Governor-elect is irrevocably committed to creating jobs through
Agriculture, Industrialisation and Technology.
“The Governor-elect has said repeatedly that his number one programme is job creation through Agriculture, Industrialisation and Technology.
“The focus is great employment for the youth, take the youth from, the street, engage them constructively in modern Agriculture,” he stressed.
Olowolabi added that the incoming government will transform every aspect of the state, including The Hope, calling
on the people of the state to support the incoming administration to deliver.
He commended the members of staff of The Hope for displaying high level of professionalism in the discharge of their duties, urging them to do more in the
interest of the state.
