Some Nigerian ambitious youth who desired to join the Nigerian navy were shocked that the training centre was an illegal training camp.

Operatives of the Navy smashed a camp in Ijanikin used for recruiting and training unsuspecting men and women.
The victims across the country paid between #50,000 and #150,000. After payment, they were taken to the training camp only to discover that they were being enrolled in Nigerian merchant Navy Coastal Defense Force. Yet to be approved by the government.
